Hey all,

I was drilling my tuning machine holes in a head slotted (no pun intended or maybe it was) for a steel string and in a moment of absolute idiocy drilled them at 11/32” rather than 1/4”. Crusing around LMI's site I found that they used to have bushings for “those who prefer to use bushings when installing these tuners, 11/32” flanged bushings are available in gold, chrome or nickel.” (http://www.lmii.com/CartTwo/thirdproducts.asp?CategoryName= Tuning+Machines&NameProdHeader=Gotoh%99+Slot%2DHead+Steel+St ring) Further searching on their site and I now know they have been discontinued.   Does anyone happen to have a set or two in gold laying around their shop in need of a good home? I would be fully prepared to offer up my eternal soul in trade -just imagine the possibilities...! (Now I fully realize that I could just plug and redrill but if I could get my hands on a set of the bushings it really would save me a great deal of grief and more important...time.)

Hey Jeremy, I am a dealer for Gotoh so if there is something you need, and they still make it, I can probably get it (I can probably get it even if they don't still make it...they ahve a lot stuff around). I just need a specific description and picture would be nice also!

Jeremy...are you talking about bushings for a Gotoh slot head tuner?

If so, I have them, but they are only .310" OD, and are plain steel...no plating..as they press into the tuning shaft holes on either side of the slot and aren't readily visible. Their purpose is only as a support guide for the shaft, and really are not needed if the original hole is 1/4" diameter, as the tuning shafts are a few thou under that and are more than well supported in the headstock wood.

Or, do you mean the hex or round headed bushings that press into the face of a headstock when mounting the open back "old timey" looking Gotohs? These would NOT be used in a slothead application.
